NV: An Act Establishing a Statewide Sex Offender Registry and Nevada’s CODIS Framework (SB 325, Ch. 451, Statutes of Nevada 1997)

Established a statewide registry of sex offenders and offenders convicted of certain crimes against children, a public access program, and revised registration and community notification provisions. In the DNA context this act added NRS 176.0911 (definitions), NRS 176.0915 (fee structure and county fund), and NRS 176.0917 (county forensic laboratory designation), creating Nevada's formal CODIS participation framework. Approved July 16, 1997.
