Forensic Genetic Genealogy Legislation

Adopted the Genetic Information Privacy Act, relating to public health and welfare. Requires direct-to-consumer genetic testing companies to obtain consumer consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of genetic data, including consent before disclosure to law enforcement. Introduced by Sen. Bostar; approved by the Governor February 13, 2024.
