DNA of Deceased Felony Suspects (HB 340, 2025)

Lawfully Owed DNA Legislation

Establishes procedures for entering the DNA of a felony arrestee into CODIS if the arrestee dies before being charged. Entry is automatic if the person was incarcerated at death or was released before July 1, 1997. Otherwise, entry requires a motion from the district attorney and a court order.
