LA: An Act Establishing a CODIS Hit Tracking and Reporting System (SB 320, Acts 2026, No. 488, 2026)

Enacted R.S. 15:605.1 to create a statewide outstanding-CODIS-hit tracking system, designating the state police as the central repository, defining 'CODIS hit' and 'outstanding CODIS hit' (a notification not resolved within 90 days), requiring all law-enforcement agencies, CODIS laboratories, and district attorneys to participate no later than January 1, 2027, and mandating an annual state-police report by March 1.
