CA: An Act Requiring a Statewide Audit of Untested Sexual Assault Evidence Kits (AB 3118, Ch. 950, 2018)

Added and repealed Penal Code § 680.4, requiring every law enforcement agency, medical facility, crime laboratory, and other facility holding sexual assault evidence kits to conduct a one-time audit of all untested kits in its custody and report the results to the Department of Justice by July 1, 2019; DOJ was required to report the audit results to the Legislature by July 1, 2020.
