Core Database Legislation

Amends the Rights of Crime Victims and Witnesses Act (725 ILCS 120/3, 120/4) to define 'DNA database' and provide that, except as allowed for coroner/medical examiner investigations, a DNA profile collected from a person because that person is a crime victim (as identified by law enforcement in a criminal investigation) may not be entered into any DNA database; the provision may not be read to contradict FBI rules governing NDIS or CODIS. P.A. 103-0792. Effective January 1, 2025.
