Companion conformity act to Am. Sub. S.B. 2, Ohio's truth-in-sentencing overhaul, taking effect the same day. Amends R.C. 2901.07 to rebuild the collection trigger around the new sentencing vocabulary: adds definitions of "jail" and "community-based correctional facility" (by reference to R.C. 2929.01) and "post-release control" (R.C. 2967.28); replaces the former "convicted of or pleads guilty to committing an offense listed in division (D)" with a person convicted of or pleading guilty to a FELONY offense listed in division (D) who is sentenced to a prison term or to a community residential sanction in a jail or community-based correctional facility under R.C. 2929.16, and separately a person convicted of a listed MISDEMEANOR offense who is sentenced to a term of imprisonment; and extends the collection duty to the chief administrative officer of a jail or community-based correctional facility in addition to the director of rehabilitation and correction. The division (D) offense list is expanded to reach violations of R.C. 2905.02 and 2919.23 that would have been violations of R.C. 2905.04 before July 1, 1996.
