Louisiana State Police rules implementing the DNA Detection of Sexual and Violent Offenders Act (La. R.S. 15:601 et seq.), promulgated under R.S. 15:611. Chapter 27 runs three subchapters - Collection of DNA Samples, Arrestees, and Peace Officers - covering scope and purpose, definitions, collection and identification of convicted-offender samples using an approved LSP Crime Laboratory kit by trained and approved collectors, and shipping of convicted-offender and arrestee samples.
