AR: DNA Detection of Sexual and Violent Offenders Act (HB 1064, Act 737 of 1997, 1997)

Added A.R.S. § 41-1772 directing the Department of Public Safety to adopt rules for administering Rapid DNA testing of crime-scene samples — approving testing devices, ensuring accuracy, and setting qualifications for operators and instructors — and defined Rapid DNA testing as analysis completed within five calendar days of collection. Enacted within the FY2021-2022 Criminal Justice Budget Reconciliation Act, Ch. 403 (2021).
