CA: An Act Making Sexual Battery Registration Mandatory — DNA Specimen Consequence (AB 2127, Ch. 917, 1996)

Amends Penal Code sections 243.4 and 290.2 to convert discretionary sex-offender registration upon conviction of felony sexual battery into a mandatory court order, thereby expanding the population required under section 290.2 to provide blood specimens and a saliva sample for DNA and other genetic typing analysis at the Department of Justice DNA laboratory; also revises the specimen-collection provisions applicable to registrants.
