AZ: An Act Requiring DNA Testing of Convicted Sexual Offenders (SB 1217, Ch. 235, 1993)

Created A.R.S. § 13-4438, the predecessor to § 13-610, requiring DNA collection from persons convicted of sexual offenses. This is Arizona's original DNA database statute. Bill text predates digitization; the enactment is documented in the Legislative Summary for the Forty-First Legislature, First Regular Session (1993) held in the folder, listed as 'DNA testing of sexual offenders.' The section was transferred and renumbered to § 13-610 by SB 1396 (Ch. 226, 2002).
