Added Section 31-13-36 to the Code of Alabama 1975 requiring any law enforcement agency holding an unlawfully present immigrant in custody to collect a full set of fingerprints and a DNA reference sample before release (if not previously taken), submitting fingerprints to the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency and the DNA sample to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for analysis and database entry; also raised the criminal-case court cost, increasing the Alabama DNA Database Fund's share, to fund the state crime lab DNA program. Act 2025-306. Effective June 1, 2025.
