WA: An Act Making DNA Sample Refusal a Gross Misdemeanor (SB 5154, Ch. 261, 2015)

In a broader sex/kidnapping-offender registration reform, created the crime of 'refusal to provide DNA' — a gross misdemeanor — for any person with a duty to register under RCW 9A.44.130 who willfully refuses a legal request for a DNA sample required under RCW 43.43.754(1)(b), codified within the failure-to-register statute (RCW 9A.44.132), and correspondingly amended RCW 43.43.754. Ch. 261, Laws of 2015.
