WA: An Act Extending DNA Collection to Additional Offender Categories (HB 2468, Ch. 289, 2002)

Expanded Washington's DNA database from sex and violent offenders to every adult or juvenile convicted of any felony, plus stalking (RCW 9A.46.110), harassment (RCW 9A.46.020), and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes (RCW 9.68A.090), amending RCW 43.43.754 and replacing blood draws with biological samples collected by jails, DOC/DSHS facilities, or local law enforcement; added a $100 DNA collection fee to qualifying felony sentences and created the state DNA database account. SHB 2468, Ch. 289, Laws of 2002. Effective July 1, 2002.
