OH: An Act Expanding DNA Specimen Collection Offenses (HB 427, 2002)

Core Database Legislation

Expanded the offenses triggering mandatory DNA collection from convicted offenders and adjudicated delinquents by amending R.C. 2901.07, 2152.74, and 109.573 to add robbery and burglary offenses (R.C. 2911.02, 2911.11, 2911.12); delayed the added-offense expansion until the BCI superintendent certified the state DNA lab was ready, funded added-offense collection from the Reparations Fund, and removed the requirement that non-invasive buccal swabs be taken by medical practitioners. HB 427; effective August 29, 2002.
