TN: An Act Expanding DNA Collection to Misdemeanor Sex Offenders (SB 1178, Acts 2007, ch. 77, 2007)

Amended T.C.A. § 40-35-321(d) to extend biological-specimen collection beyond felonies to persons convicted of any misdemeanor whose conviction requires sex-offender registration on or after July 1, 2007 (in addition to any felony committed on or after July 1, 1998), and authorized collection from such misdemeanants already in custody. Acts 2007, ch. 77 (SB 1178); effective July 1, 2007.
