Amended § 19.2-310.2:1 to expand Virginia's post-arrest DNA sampling beyond violent felonies to persons arrested for the attempted commission of a violent felony and for the burglary offenses in §§ 18.2-89 to 18.2-92 (and attempts); a saliva or tissue sample is taken after a magistrate or grand jury finds probable cause and before release, with destruction on dismissal or acquittal absent another qualifying charge.
