ND: An Act Expanding DNA Collection to Additional Felony Categories (HB 1208, Ch. 302, 2001)

Expanded North Dakota's convicted-offender DNA collection by amending N.D.C.C. § 31-13-03 to require, in addition to existing sexual-offense collection, a blood or body-fluid sample from any person convicted after July 31, 2001 of a felony in ch. 12.1-16 (homicide), 12.1-17 (assaults), or 12.1-18 (kidnapping), § 12.1-22-01 (robbery), or ch. 12.1-27.2 (sexual performance by minors), and from any such offender in DOC custody after that date (retroactive). Enacted to qualify for grants under the federal DNA Analysis Backlog Elimination Act of 2000. Ch. 302 (HB 1208); expired July 31, 2004. (Conviction-based, not arrestee, collection.)
