OH: An Act Expanding DNA Collection Covered Offenses (SB 111, 1998)

Amended R.C. 2901.07 as part of an omnibus corrections act, conforming the offender DNA-collection statute to revised felony sentencing law: updated post-release-control cross-references and recast the duty to collect DNA from offenders returned to a jail, community-based correctional facility, or prison for violating parole, transitional control, other release, or post-release control who had not yet provided a specimen; a companion amendment to R.C. 2929.13 carried forward the requirement that judges order DNA collection when sentencing sexual predators and sexually-violent-predator-specification offenders. Effective March 17, 1998.
