WA: An Act Expanding DNA Collection and Database Administration Requirements (HB 2713, Ch. 97, 2008)

Amended RCW 43.43.754 to extend DNA collection to every adult or juvenile required to register as a sex or kidnapping offender (RCW 9A.44.130), regardless of conviction date, and to convictions for additional listed crimes (including fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation, custodial sexual misconduct, failure to register, and sexual misconduct with a minor); waived duplicate sampling when the crime laboratory already holds a sample, made the $100 DNA fee mandatory and split it 80/20 between the state DNA database account and the collecting agency (RCW 43.43.7541). 2SHB 2713, Ch. 97, Laws of 2008.
