Established Mississippi's DNA identification system within the Sex Offenders Registration Law by creating § 45-33-37, directing the Mississippi Crime Laboratory to develop and operate a CODIS/FBI-compatible DNA identification system and requiring (from and after January 1, 1996) every person convicted of a sex offense defined in § 45-33-23 to provide a blood sample before release, and any person owing a registration duty under § 45-33-25 to provide a sample within five working days of registration.
