OK: An Act Amending the OSBI DNA Statute (SB 1374, Laws 2004, c. 143, 2004)

Authorized county sheriffs to collect offender DNA samples: amended 22 O.S. § 991a so probationers submit within 30 days of sentencing to the Department of Corrections or the county sheriff as directed by the court and county-jail inmates submit to the sheriff (with a $15 collection fee to the collecting agency); amended 57 O.S. § 530.1 to add DNA collection to DOC intake; and amended 74 O.S. §§ 150.27, 150.27a to require OSBI to profile specimens received under § 991a and set collection procedures, equipment standards, and training for sheriffs' offices. Laws 2004, c. 143. Effective November 1, 2004.
