NM: An Act Amending the DNA Identification Act (SB 157, Laws 2003, ch. 256, 2003)

Established a missing persons DNA identification system within the DNA Identification Act (amending NMSA 1978 §§ 29-16-1 through 29-16-8 and adding new sections): created DNA indexes for unidentified persons, unidentified human remains, and relatives of or reference samples from missing persons; provided for expungement of missing-persons samples and records, required reimbursement of the administrative center's collection and testing costs, and limited searches so missing-persons samples may run against the covered-offender index but not the criminal evidentiary indexes.
