CA: An Act Amending DNA Laboratory Accreditation and Collection Procedures (AB 2850, Ch. 170, 2006)

Amended Penal Code §§ 296.1, 297, and 298.1 to exclude the retroactive collection requirement, change the laboratory-accreditation standard required of labs analyzing crime-scene samples, authorize DOJ and designated public crime laboratories to upload profiles to available databanks, and add state mental hospital officers to the peace officers who may use reasonable force to collect samples from those who refuse.
