MS: An Act Adding CODIS Participation and a Good-Faith Clause (SB 2865, Ch. 563, 2006)

Amended § 45-33-37 to make the Mississippi Crime Laboratory responsible for administering the state DNA identification record system, with rulemaking authority and a duty to cooperate with the FBI on the state's participation in CODIS and the national DNA index, and added a good-faith clause deeming a sample obtained in good faith to comply with the section and providing that an erroneous database entry does not bar legitimate use of the information in a criminal investigation. Laws 2006, ch. 563. Effective July 1, 2006.
