Overhauled Mississippi's sex offender registration law and, for DNA purposes, defined 'registration duties' to include obtaining each registrant's biological sample for the State Crime Laboratory under § 45-33-37; amended § 45-33-37 to replace blood-based sampling language with the broader term 'biological sample,' required any registrant with no DNA analysis on file to submit a sample within five working days after registration, and directed responsible agencies to obtain a sample from every registrant not already on file. Laws 2001, ch. 500. Effective July 1, 2001.
